3. The number of candidates who appeared in a examination was 13000.
Of which 45% were boys and remaining girls. If 30% of the boys and 40% of girls qualified the examination, find number of candidates who
did not qualify.​​

Answer:

45 percent of 13000=45/100*13000=5850

number of girls=13000-5850=7150

30 percent of  boys qualified=30/100*5850=1755

40 percent of girls qualified=40/100*7150=2869

total qualified=1755+2869=4624

not qualified=13000-4624=8376
