When our Constitution was written, there were no duties assigned to us as the writers of the Constitution hoped that we all Indians are responsible enough to understand ourFundamental Duties. But the way we started ignoring our duties just after getting independence was really painful. People like you and me started asking question like- " Why should we do so, do that etc. So after knowing the fact that we Indians have become smart enough to skip our moral duties, the Government of India amended the constitution in 1976 and Fundamental Dutieswere inserted in the article 51 A of our Constitution by the 42nd amendment. So, it is written in our Constitution to respect ourNational Flag and our National Anthem.
