Now if you see the function f(x) you will say that at x=2 functional value is not defined so inorder to make the function defined at x=2 it is given that f (2) = 3.
But if you check the limiting value of the function you will find that
lim x→2 f (x) = {(x^2-4)/(x-2)}
={(x-2)(x+2)/(x-2)} = (x+2) = (2+2)=4
So the limiting value of the function at x=2 is 4 but the functional value at x=2 is 3.
