(3*2^2)+(a*2)-4=0
12+2a-4=0
a=-4
(2*2^3)+(b*2^2)+2-2=0
16+4b=0
b=-4
a+2b= -12

Given, 3x^2 + ax - 4

           3(2)^2 + a(2) - 4 = 0

           12 + 2a - 4 = 0

             2a + 8 = 0

                a = -4.

Given, 2x^3 + bx^2 + x - 2

            2(2)^3 + b(2)^2 + 2 - 2 = 0

              16 + 4b + 0 = 0

                  4b = -16

                    b = -4.

a + 2b =  -4 + 2(-4)

           = -4 - 8

           = -12.

Hope this helps!
