Let the length of pipe be = X

according to the question,

4/8of x is painted white.

1/4 of x is painted red.

1/2 of x is painted blue.

part of pipe painted black = 2metre

Now,

4x/8+X/4+X/2+2= X

=> 4x+2x+4x+16/8 = X

=> 10x+16/8= X

=> 10x+16= 8x

=> 16=8x-10x

=> 16= -2x

=> X= -8m

since we know that length cannot be negative

therefore, The length of pipe is 8m.
