Option b) The greater of the two numbers is the correct answer.

  • Least common multiple is the least common multiple of two numbers is the lowest possible number that is divisible by both numbers.
  • By using the prime factorization method we can find out the prime factors of the numbers and we can use these prime factors to find the LCM of those numbers.
  • Given that one number is a multiple of another. Suppose 2 and 10 be the two numbers. Here, 10 is a multiple of 2.
  • By  Prime factorization method, 2 = 2 * 1 and 10= 2 * 5
  • ∴ LCM= 2 *5 = 10, Which is the greater number of the two numbers.
  • Therefore, If one number is a multiple of another, the LCM of the two numbers is the greater number of two numbers.
  • Option b) The greater of the two numbers is the correct answer.
