Let the total population of town be x.
No of men = 40%of x = 40/100*x = 40x/100 = 0.4x
No of women = 39% of x = 39x/100 = 0.39x
0.4x+0.39x+12600=x
x-0.79x=12600
0.21x=12600
x=60000
