no not a suggestion . it was totally wong .seems that the replied with the solution would e familiar with percentage.there cannot be a way like this

let the total no of teachers be x
male teachers =44%of that is 44x÷100
female teachers=42
44x÷100+42=x after solving through transposing method value of x would be 75 hence total no of teachers 75 male teachers =75-42=33
male teachers =44%of that is 44x÷100

transposing method means to transpose variables on LHS to RHS or vice versa
ok heres the full method
44x÷100+42=x
transpose 42 on LHS so that it becomes -42.
transpose or shift x to RHS so the equation would become 44x÷100-x=-42 subtracf 44x÷100 from x so it would be 44x-100x÷100=-42
-56x÷100=-42 =-56x=-42×100 =-56x=-4200
cancel minus with minus so that x = 4200÷56 = 75 that would be the no of teachers in the school
