here is your answer

 \frac{5}{12}  +  \frac{1}{8}
in this question denominators are not same so to make them same we will take l.c.m of 12 and 8
and l.c.m of 12 and 8 is 24
so

 \frac{5}{12}  =  \frac{5 \times 2}{12 \times 2}  =  \frac{10}{24}


 \frac{1}{8}  =  \frac{1 \times 3}{8 \times 3}  =  \frac{3}{24}
now denominators are same so add them


 \frac{10 + 3}{24}

 \frac{13}{24}
