The main reason for the breakage of waves along the shoreline is due to the increase in the wavelength in the shoreline.

The wavelength in the beach is very less compared to that of the shoreline and as the waves get to the shoreline they tend to break because of the increased wavelength.

So the answer is ‘C’.

It's not the other one I promise here this is copy and pasted from my school.  The distance between waves gets shorter, while the height of the wave increases. Soon the wave becomes top-heavy, breaks over forward, and smashes down on the beach.

So with that being said I think it's B.
