Given :- A brother is elder than his sister by 5 years . If you add 6 to the fifth part of the brother's age and 5 to the third part of the sister's age the result is same.

To Find :- Ages of both .

Solution :-

Let us assume that, present age of sister is x years .

so,

→ Present age of brother = (x + 5) years .

A/q,

→ (1/5) of brother's age + 6 = (1/3) of sister's age + 5

→ (x + 5)/5 + 6 = (x/3) + 5

→ (x/3) - (x+5/5) = 6 - 5

→ (5x - 3x - 15) /15 = 1

→ 2x - 15 = 15

→ 2x = 30

→ x = 15 years .

therefore,

→ Present age of sister = x = 15 years .

→ Present age of brother = (x + 5) = 20 years .
