5. A piece of rope is 36 cm long. What will be the length of each side if the rope is used to form:
(a) square and
(b) an equilateral triangle?

Answer:

lets assume side of square is a and side of triangle is A

the length of rope will be equal to the perimeter of square and perimeter of triangle

so perimeter of square =4*a=36cm

=> a=9cm

and

perimeter of the triangle=3*A=36cm

=> A=12 cm
