Given : Volume of CO2 = 1000ml

To find : mass of CO2 at NTP

Solution : NTP is defined as the normal temperature and pressure. As per IUPAC, at NTP , air at 20⁰C (293.15K) at 1 Pascal occupies 22.4L of volume.

For CO2 , molecular mass = 12+32 = 44g

1 mole of CO2 at NTP occupies 22.4L  having the mass of 44g.

                1000ml= 1Litre

                Therefore, mass of 1L of CO2 = 44/22.4 = 1.96g

Mass of 1000ml of CO2 = 1.96g
