5. In triangle ABC, AB =9, AC = 12, F is the mid-pt. of
the circle BFC intersects AB at E, find BE.​

Given that :

AC = 12

AF = CF. ( Since F is midpoint of AC )

Draw a circle, with BC as diameter.

Mark point E where arc BFC intersects AB.

FC is a chord of the circle.

Therefore ,

AC*AF = AE^2

12*6 = AE^2

72 = AE^2

AE = 8 (Approx)

Hence , AB - AE = BE

9 - 8 = 1
