5 persons take 10 days

⇒ 1 day = 1/10

Amount of work completed after 4 days:

1 day = 1/10 of the work

4days = 1/10 x 4 = 2/5 of the work

Find the remaining of the work:

Remaining = 1 - 2/5 = 3/5 of the work

Number of persons after 5 more joined in:

Number of people = 5 + 5 = 10

Find the number of days 10 people need to finish the work:

5 people take 10 days

1 person take 10 x 5 = 50 days

10 people = 50 ÷ 10 = 5 days

Find the amount of work 10 people can do in a day:

10 people can complete teh work in 5 days

⇒ 1 day = 1/5 of the work

Find the number of days needed for the 10 people to complete the rest of the work:

1/5 of the work = 1 day

3/5 of the work = 1 x 3 = 3 days

Find the total number of days needed altogether:

Number of days = 4 + 3 = 7 days

Answer: The wall can be completed in 7 days.
