Given : OA'B' is reflection of OAB  in Origin

A' = ( 4 , -5) is the image of A

B' =(-7 , 0) is the image of B

To Find : co-ordinates of A and B and draw a diagram to represent this

to the figure  information.

Give a special name to the quadrilateral ABA'B'

Solution:

reflection wrt origin

(x , y) Becomes (-x , - y)

A' = ( 4 , -5)  => A = (-4 , 5)

B' =(-7 , 0) => B = ( 7 , 0)

ABA'B' would be a parallelogram

as lines are parallel in reflection.

A = (-4 , 5)

the image of A under reflection in x-axis

( - 4 , - 5)

followed by  reflection in y-axis.

= (4 , - 5)

B = ( 7 , 0)

image of B under reflection in y-axis

= (-7 , 0)
