Discriminant = b^2 - 4ac

Here,
a = 5
b = -1
c = 0

Hence, discriminant = b^2 - 4ac
                                   = (-1)^2 - 4(5)(0)
                                   = 1 - 0
                                   = 1

Compare Given Quadratic equation

5m² - m = 0 with am² + bm + c = 0,

we get ,

a = 5 , b = -1 , c = 0,

Discreminant ( D ) = b² - 4ac

= ( -1 )² - 4 × 5 × 0

= ( -1 )²

= 1

Therefore ,

Discreminant ( D ) = 1
