6. A 5 m long and 75 cm wide saree is to be bordered with 6 cm wide lace. Find the cost of putting
the border at the rate of 0.50 per sq cm.​

We know that,

  • l = Length
  • b = Breadth
  • a = Area

Given that,

Length (l) = 5 m = 500 cm (Since, 1 m = 100 cm)

Width of saree (b) = 75 cm

Let the area excluding the lace be ABCD

By the formula,
