Lakes are formed by glacial activity.
eg÷Dal and Wular are fresh water lakes

Most of the fresh water lakes in the Himalayan region are of glacial origin. They formed when glaciers dug out a basin, which was later filled with snowmelt.

Two fresh water lakes are- Dal Lake and Mansarowar Lake.
