gets $44 less than Vishal, find the total amount of
money that is shared between the two boys.​

To Find :-

• Find the total amount of money that is shared between the two boys.

Solution :-

~Here, we’re given the ratio of money shared between Rui Feng and Vishal which is in ratio 5 : 9 . Also, Rui gets $ 44 less than Vishal. We need to find the total amount of money shared b/w those two boys.  

According to the given ratios ::  

• Vishal’s share = 9x  

• Rui Feng’s share = 5x  

According to the Question :-  

⇒ Rui’s share + 44 = Vishal’s share  

 $\sf \implies 5x + 44 = 9x$

$\sf \implies 9x -5x = 44$  

$\sf \implies 4x = 44$ 

$\sf \implies x = \dfrac{44}{4}$ 

$\sf \implies x = 11$

$\sf \leadsto 5x = 55$

$\sf \leadsto 9x = 99$

Therefore,

• Rui Feng gets $ 55 and Vishal gets $ 99

Let R = Amount of money that Rui feng has.

Let V = Amount of money that Vishal has.

Then,

R : V = 5 : 9

Also,

R = V - 44 ( Rui feng get $44 then vishal)

9R = 9V - 396 (Multiplying Both Sides for 9)

5V = 9V - 396 (Subtracting for 9R = 5V)

4V = 396 ( Rearrangement of equation )

V = 99 , R = 55
