let the total amount of money that the man had be rupees x

according to the question,

money given to wife= half of the total money

= Rs. x/2

remaining money = Rs. x/2

☆man gave 3/4 of the remaining money to his

son

thus, money given to son = Rs. 3/4 ( x/2)

= Rs. 3x/8

money left = Rs. x/2 - Rs. 3x/ 8 = Rs.x/8

he gave the left money to his daughter

thus , money given to daughter = Rs.x/8

Rs.x/8 = Rs.25000

= x = Rs. 25000 × 8

= x = Rs. 200000

therefore,

the total sum that the man had is Rs. 200000
