Given : A merchant sold 70 kg of pulses at the rate of Rs 45 per kg and gained a profit of 15%.

To Find : What was the total cost price of 70 kg of pulses

Solution:

let say cost price per kg  = C rs

Profit = 15 %

profit = (15/100)C = 0.15C

SP = CP + Profit

=> SP per kg  = C  + 0.15C  = 1.15C  Rs

1.15C = 45

=> C = 45/1.15

=>  C = 4500/115

total cost price of 70 kg of pulses  = 70 C

= 70 * 4500/115

=  2,739.13

total cost price of 70 kg of pulses  = 2,739.13   Rs
