Answer:
The seven architectural buildings that are arranged in an oval ring at Maharaj Bada, Gwalior will be restored and revamped. Gwalior is one of the 100 cities selected under Smart City Mission and the proposed project will be carried out under the Smart City Project. Maharaj Bada or Jayaaji Chowk is one of the most significant places of Gwalior.
The large square at Maharaj Bada is surrounded by thriving bazars. There are several significant and big markets located at or near Maharaj Bada, some of those are Sarafa Bazaar, Topi Bazaar, Subhash Market named after Subhash Chandra Bose, Nazarbagh Market, Gandhi Market, Daulat Ganj etc. Victoria Market, an old major stationary, books and Garments market, located at Bada, caught fire in June 2010, which also collapsed one portion of the historical Market building. The local body has decided to start revamping of the area with the restoration of this Victoria market. According to the current plan the monument will be revamped and converted into a museum that will house historical artifacts and documents for the benefit of the tourists.
Town Hall in the Maharaj Bada area is is in the most depleted condition with crumbling walls and leaking interiors and efforts will be made to bring back the earlier beauty and splendor to the site. Further, the Post Office, Gorkhi Structure, the State Bank of India building, the Government Press and the old Corporation Office building too will be given a face lift.
