Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The initial number of bees is x

After three years the number of bees will be = x × 1.2 × 1.3 ×1.4

if there are  1248 more bees at the end of the third hour when

compared to the end of the second hour.

(x × 1.2 × 1.3 ×1.4 )- (  x × 1.2 × 1.3 ) = 1248

= 2.184 x - 1.56 x = 1248

= 0.624 x = 1248

x = 1248 /0.624

x =  2000

In 1 hour = 2000 × 1.2 = 2400

In 2 hour = 2000 × 1.3 = 3120

Increase in second year = 3120 - 2400 = 720
