Answer:

adding both equation

7y + 2y = ax - x + 3+ 4

9y = x(a -1) +7

(9y - 7) ÷ (a - 1) = x ______eq-1

put value of x in equation any of them

let take equation

2y = 3- x

2y = 3 - (9y -7) / (a -1)

2y = (3a - 3 - 9y - 7)÷ (a-1)

a-1 × 2y = 3a -9y -10

2ya -2y = 3a-9y-10

2ya -3a = -7y -10

a ( 2y - 3) = -7y -10

a = (- 7y - 10 )/ (2y - 3)
