Answer:

Given; Distance = 360 km

To find ; speed of train if it had been 5 km/h more and time will be 1 hour less.

Solution» Let speed = x km/h

Let time taken = T

WKT, Speed = Distance / Time

x = 360/T

T¹ = 360/x _______(I)

#According to second condition#

Speed = (x + 5) km/h

Time = T²

Distance = 360 km (constant)

So, Time = D/S

T² = 360/(x+5) ________(II)

.

Again, According to question-

T¹ - T² = 1

360/x - 360/(x+5) = 1

360(x+5)/x² + 5x - 360x/x² + 5x = 1

360x + 1800 - 360x = x² + 5x

1800 = x² + 5x

0 = x² + 5x - 1800

0 = x² + 45x - 40x - 1800

0 = x(x + 45) - 40(x + 45)

0 = (x - 40) (x + 45)

So, either x = - 45 or +40

As speed cannot be negative,

so x (speed) = 40 km/h +ANSWER+

So the speed is hi
