if 9² is 81 then square of n will be n².

9² = 9 x 9 = 81,    ( it is possible due to  9 is a numerical )

n²= n x n = n²   ( here n is not a numerical. if n equals to any numerical value then the product of there base with same itself )

similarly ,
i) for cubes { n³ = n x n x n = n³}

according to the power the base should be multiplied by itself.
