Finding the roots of 9x^2-x-4 is same as solving the equation 9x^2-x-4=0.

Thus, 9x^2-x-4=0

=> (3x)^2-(2×3x×1/6)+(1/6)^2-4-(1/6)^2=0

(Completing the square method)

=> (3x-1/6)^2-1/36-4=0

=> (3x-1/6)^2-(1/36+144/36)=0

=> (3x-1/6)^2-145/36=0

=> (3x-1/6)^2-(sqrt145/6)=0

=> (3x-1/6-sqrt145/6)(3x-1/6+sqrt145/6)=0

=> 3x-1/6-sqrt145/6=0 and 3x-1/6+sqrt145/6=0

=> x=(1+sqrt145)/18 or x=(1-sqrt145)/18
