Given info : A 0.680 m aqueous solution of KBr has a total mass of 75.0 g.

To find : masses of solute and solvent are present.

solution : 0.680 m aqueous solution of KBr means 0.680 moles of KBr present in 1000g of water.

molar mass of KBr = 119 g/mol

so, weight of KBr in solution = 119 × 0.680 = 80.92g

so total mass of solution is 1000g + 80.92 g = 1080.92 g

now mass of solute in 75g of KBr solution = 75 × 80.92/1080.92

= 5.61 g

mass of solvent in 75g of KBr solution = 75 × 1000/1080.92

= 69.39g

Therefore mass of solute is 5.61g and mass of solvent is 69.39g.
