Object height (h1) = +2cm
object distance (u)= -30cm
image distance(v) = -60cm
image height (h) = ?

m = -v/u = h /h1

-v/u = h/h1

-(-60)/-30 = h/ -2

-2 = h/-2
4= h

h= 4cm

thus the height of the object = 4cm...

Explanation:

Explanation:

Image distance, v = -40cm

Focal length, f = -20cm

Object distance, u = ?

We know that,

1/u + 1/v = 1/f

=> 1/u = 1/f - 1/v

=> 1/u = 1/-20 - (1/-40)

=> 1/u = -1/20 + 1/40

=> 1/u = -2/40 + 1/40

=> 1/u = -1/40

=> u = -40 cm
