a 40kg wagon is towed up a hill at 18.5degrees with respect to the horizontal. The tow rope is parallel to the incline and has a tension of 140N .Assume that the wagon starts from rest. How fast is the wagon going after moving 80m up the hill

Two forces act on wagon in the direction of the incline:
1) component of mg = mg sin 18.5° down the incline and
2) tension 140 N in the rope up the incline.

Net force up the incline
= 140 - (40) * (9.8) * (sin 18.5°)
= 140 - 124.4 = 15.6 N

Acceleration of wagon,
a = 15.6 / 40 = 0.39 m/s^2.

v^2 = u^2 + 2as = 0 + 2 * (0.39) * (80) =
=> v = √(62.4) = 7.9 m/s.
