A 5cm tall object is placed perpendicular to the principal axis of a convex lens of focal length 10cm. the distance of the object from the lens is 15cm. find the nature, position, size of the image. also find its magnification​

object is between F and 2F , so image will be real , inverted and beyond 2F at opposite side of Object

using lens formula,

1/v - 1/u = 1/f

=> v = uf/(u+f) = -15 x 10 / ( -15 + 10 ) = 30

image dist from the lens = 30 cm

magnification = v/u = 30/-15 = -2

again, m = image size / object size = hi / ho

so, hi = -2 x 5 = -10

image size = 10 cm

-ve sign indicates inverted nature of image.
