Hi ,
Total length of the rope = 6.5 m
Let the first piece length = x m
length of the second piece = 2x m
x + 2x = 6.5 m
3x = 6.5
x = 6.5/3 m
Now ,
length of the longer piece = 2x
= 2 × ( 6.5/3 )
= ( 13/3 ) m
I hope this helps you.

Let,
Length of
• Shortest peice = x
• largest peice = 2x
================
ATQ,
x + 2x = 6.25
3x = 6.25
x = 625/300
Now,
Length of shortest peice =x=(6.25)/3=2.084 m
Length of other peice = 2x = 4.17 m
I hope this will help you
