Let the quantity of almonds be x and for the cashew be y.

A 700 g dry fruit pack costs Rs. 216, which contains some almonds and the rest cashew kernel.

According to question,

x + y = 700

→ x = 700 - y

Also given that, almonds cost Rs. 288 per kg and cashew kernel cost Rs. 336 per kg.

Now, first we have to convert it into g.

To convert kg intong divide by 1000.

→ For almonds: 288/1000 = 0.288 g

→ For cashew: 336/1000 = 0.366 g

As per the given condition,

0.288x + 0.366y = 216

From above

→ 0.288(700 - y) + 0.366y = 216

→ 201.6 - 0.288y + 0.366y = 216

→ 0.078y = 14.4

y = 184.61

Substitute value of y in x

→ x = 700 - 184.61

x = 515.38

Therefore,

Quantities of two dry fruits i.e. for almond it is 515.38 gm and for cashew it is 184.61 gm

Verification

A 700 g dry fruit contains both almonds and cashew.

→ 515.38 + 184.61 = 700

→ 700.00 = 700

→ 700 = 700

Step-by-step explanation:

Question:-

A 700 g dry fruit pack costs ₹216. It contains some almonds and the rest cashew kernel. If almonds costs ₹288 per kg and cashew kernel cost ₹336 per kg, what are the quantities of the two dry fruits seperately?

Answer with solution:-

Let the almonds be a and the cashews be b .

Given that,

a+b = 700

=>a = 700-b

Cashew kernel (b) = \small\sf\dfrac{336}{1000} = 0.336 grams.

Almonds (a) = \small\sf\dfrac{288}{1000} = 0.288 grams.

Given,

0.336a+0.288b = ₹216

===> 0.336(700-b) + 0.288(b) = ₹216

===> 201.6 - 0.288b + 0.336a = ₹216

===> y = 184.61

Now, we can find the value of x

700-y = x

700-184.61 = x

515.39 = x

Therefore, the quantity of cashews is 184.61g and the quantity of almonds is 515.39g
