9.8m because speed due to gravitational acceleration is 9.8 m/s

let's solve the first ball first
u=0 t=1 a=9.81m/s^2 s=?
s=ut+1/2at^2
s=1/2(9.81)(1)^2
s=4.905m
The initial distance between two ball = 4.905m
when t=4 (for first ball)
s=ut+1/2at^2
s=1/2(9.81)(4)^2
s=78.48m
when t=3 (for second ball)
s=ut+1/2at^2
s=1/2(9.81)(3)^2
s=44.145m
78.48-44.145-4.905=29.43m
u=0 t=1 a=9.81m/s^2 s=?
s=ut+1/2at^2
s=1/2(9.81)(1)^2
s=4.905m
The initial distance between two ball = 4.905m
when t=4 (for first ball)
s=ut+1/2at^2
s=1/2(9.81)(4)^2
s=78.48m

78.48-44.145-4.905=29.43m
