A ball is thrown vertically downward with a velocity of 20 m/s from the top of a tower. It hits the ground after some time with the velocity of 80m/s. The height of the tower is (g-10m/s²)....

The initial velocity of the ball is =20 m/s.

The final velocity of the ball is =80 m/s.

The acceleration due to gravity is =10 m/s²

So, the height of the tower can be obtained from the expression:v²=u²+2gh

Substitute the values in above expression:

80²=20²+(2×10×h)

h=6400-400/20m

h=6000/20->300m.
