Answer:

Explanation:

=> Here, a ball is thrown vertically upward from the ground with a speed of 24.5m/s, and reach the height of 29.4 m

=>According to the formula of height,

h = vt - 1/2gt²

where,

h = height = 29.4 m

v = speed = 24.5 m/s.

g =  acceleration of gravity = 9.8 m/s²

=> h = vt - 1/2gt²

∴ 29.4 = 24.5t - 1/2 (9.8)t²

58.8 = 49t - 9.8t²

6 = 5t - t²

t² - 5t + 6 = 0

t² - 2t - 3t + 6 = 0

t (t - 2) - 3(t - 2) = 0

(t - 2) (t - 3) = 0

t = 2 or 3
