Distance of ball from the ground after 2 sec of throwing is 40 m  if thrown with velocity of 30 m/s

Given : A ball is thrown vertically upward from the ground with the velocity of 30m/s.

To find : the distance of ball from the ground after 2 sec of throwing. (g=10m/s²)

Solution:

S = ut + (1/2)at²

u = 30 m/s

a  = -g = -10 m/s²

t = 2 secs

S = 30 *2  + (1/2)(-10)(2)²

= 60 - 20

= 40 m

distance of ball from the ground after 2 sec of throwing = 40 m
