Answer:

In the case of vertically projected bodies

initial velocity=u

final velocity =0

height travelled =h

based on the kinematics equation ,

v^2-u^2=2as

s=h

0^2-u^2=2(-g)h

u=√2gh

so,try to substitute in the formula

u=√2.10.20

u=√400

=20m/s

Answer:

The initial speed is 20m/s

Explanation:

Initial speed , u = ? ; Final speed , v = 0 ;

Height , h =20 m ; g =9.8 m/s

v²=u²+2gh

=>(0)² = u² + 2×(-9.8)×20

=>0 = u² -392

=>u²= 392

=>u = 19.8

=>u = 20 m/s

Hope this answer helps you out.
