Answer:

0.3 km

Step-by-step explanation:

A bird is sitting on a train a moving towards east with velocity 300km/hr. another train b of same speed is moving in west direction on the same track .when the trains are 6 km apart the bird starts flying with a velocity 30 km/hr with respect to ground towards b it returns back to a and continue repeating this process until the trains collide. in this process the total distance traveled by the bird is

We need to find distance traveled by bird

Speed of bird is given.

If we know the time for which bird traveled we can wind distance covered by bird

Time = Time taken by train to collide after bird fly

Distance between Train = 6 km  when bird fly

Total Speed of Train = 300 + 300 = 600 km/ Hr   ( as train approaching each other)

Time = 6/600  = 1/100 hr

Distance traveled by bird = 30 * (1/100)  = 0.3 km

This is only theoretical answer

Question statements to be true speed of Bird should have been faster than Train speed .other wise bird would not even be able to reach another train until train collide

as each train traveled 3 km  while bird only traveled 0.3 km

Answer:

Correct option is

C

300 m

Relative velocity between trains: 600mkh

−1

Time taken for crash is:

t=

v

d

=

600

6

=

100

1

hours=36s

Velocity of bird =30kmh

−1

=30∗

18

5

ms

−1

Distance traveled by bird is =30∗

18

5

∗36=300m

Hence option C is the answer.
