A block of mass m is kept on a horizontal table. If the static friction coefficient is µ , find the frictional force acting on the block ?

Since, the block is at rest, the Frictional force acting on the body must be zero. This is because, When the body is at rest, no force acts on it, thus no friction is there.

If the mass that means the body is displaced by applying the force then there will be acting a Kinetic Friction.

If the body is at rest means it has tendency of motion, I means that the force is acting but the body is not moving then the Static Friction acts on it.

Mathematically,

Friction = µ N, but this will not be valid here, since body is at rest.
