According to reactivity series table zinc is more reactive than copper so, in the solution of copper sulphate, zinc displace the copper and hence we know that the color of copper is blue so it fades as the reaction continuous.

CuSo4 +Zn = ZnSo4 + Cu
chemical equation:-
CuSo4 +Zn = ZnSo4 + Cu

this is because zinc displaces copper from copper sulphate as zinc is more reactive than copper. Zn+ CuSO4= ZnSO4 + Cu
