Explanation:

the initial velocity of the body is 36 m/s

the final velocity of the body is 0 m/s ( because the body comes to rest )

the time taken for the body to come to rest = 6 min = 6×60 seconds = 360 seconds

acceleration (a) = (final velocity - initial velocity)/ total time

= 0-36/360 m/s²

= (-36)/360 m/s²

= -0.1 m/s² ( the minus sign shows that the body has a negative acceleration i.e. the velocity is slowing down )

so the answer is -0.1 m/s²

  • initial velocity=u=36m/s
  • Final velocity=v=0m/s
  • Time=t=6min=360s

We know

\boxed{\sf Acceleration=\dfrac{v-u}{t}}

\\ \sf\longmapsto Acceleration=\dfrac{0-36}{360}

\\ \sf\longmapsto Acceleration=\dfrac{-36}{360}

\\ \sf\longmapsto Acceleration=-0.1m/s^2
