I think answer is wrong
Since each step's two plane are perpendicular to each other so the tangent will be √((5×0.1)^2+(5×0.1)^2)=0.5√2
Therefore distance travelled is 0.5√2
As no parameter is given (i.e. time,force) we assmume that all force is done by gravity
So, v^2=u^2 + 2aS
= 0+ 2×10×0.5√2
or, v= √(10√2)
