A body with an initial velocity of 3 m/s moves with an acceleration of 2 m/s², then the distance travelled in the 4th second is?

Displacement of a particle in nth second is calculated by the given below formula :

\longrightarrow\:\:\sf S_n = u + \dfrac{a}{2} (2n - 1)

We're provided with initial velocity (u) 3 m/s and Acceleration (a) 2 m/s² . Substitue this given values in above formula :

\longrightarrow\:\:\sf S_n = 3 + \dfrac{2}{2} (2 |4| - 1) \\

\longrightarrow\:\:\sf S_n = 3 +  (8- 1)

\longrightarrow\:\:\sf S_n = 3 +  7

\longrightarrow\:\: \underline{ \boxed{\sf S_n = 10 \: m}}

\therefore\:\underline{\textsf{Distance travelled in 4$^{\text{th}}$ second is \textbf{10 m}}}.
