Step-by-step explanation:

GIVEN

CP OF BOOKS = ₹4000(40×100)

SP OF BOOKS = ₹4250(85×50)

DONATED 15 BOOKS TO LIBRARY = 15 × 40 = ₹600 AS HE BOUGHT EACH FOR 40

FIND OUT

PROFIT OR LOSS

  • COST FOR BOOKS (TOTAL)= 4000 + 600= ₹4600
  • THEREFORE NOW CP = ₹4600
  • WHEREAS SP = ₹4250
  • 4600-4250=350
  • NOW SP ≤ CP
  • THE BOOK SELLER SUFERED A LOSS OF 350 RUPEES.
