Answer:

Here, distance of the boy from the wall,
time taken by the echo to be heard,
If

is distance between the boy and the wall, total distance travelled by sound in going and coming back
As distance travelled by sound = speed of sound xx time,
or

.

Answer:

In one second two claps are produced

so time interval t=12=0.5

Distance between wall and boy d =85cm

speed of sound v= 2dt

2d is because sound travel once from boy to wall and then

again wall to back.

v=2×850.5

=340m/s
