Given: Weight of the boy = 40kg

           Vertical height climbed = 200m

To Find: Amount of work done

              Amount of potential energy gained

Solution:

Mass in kilogram = 40 kg

Height above the ground = 200m

Acceleration due to gravity = 9.8m/s²

Potential Energy = m x g x h

= 40 x 9.8 x 200

= 78400 J

Therefore, Work done is equal to potential energy by work-energy theorem = 78400J
