A builder decided to build a apartment in 40 days. He employed 100 men in the beginning and 100 more after 35 days and completed the work in stipulated time. If he had not employed the additional man, how many days behind schedule would it have been finished?

Planned work:

100 workers can do the work in 40 days = 4000 ManDays

Actural schedule

100 workers working 35 days and 200 workers working 5 more days

= 4500 man days.

Thus, it takes additional 5 days [ = (4500 - 4000)/100] to finish the

work if only 100 workers worked.
