The recoil velocity of the gun is the same in magnitude as the velocity of the gun. But it is in opposite direction of the bullet.
As the mass of both the bullet and gun is same,
therefore, By the law of conservation of Momentum,
Mv + Mv'= 0
Mv' = Mv
v' = -v
